Shiyam Galyon is a narrative strategist from Houston, Texas. Her work focuses on democracy and authoritarianism within the United States, at the U.S. border, and beyond our borders.

Previously, Shiyam worked to create scholarships for refugee and displaced students at Books Not Bombs and was the communications coordinator at War Resisters League, the oldest secular antiwar organization in the United States. She is currently focusing on the question: why is it hard to talk about war in the United States?
